PowerSchool Home Access

Effective March 4th, 2016

PowerSchool has made some minor changes to how GradeBook is accessed remotely. These changes were made to accommodate the layers of security that are currently place. The minor change includes the use of a new GradeBook Launcher. The GradeBook launchers specific function is to grant the user access from home. The process has not changed per say. The user will still log on in the same way. The only difference is that you will use this new launcher as opposed to the one that is available from within PowerSchool. The launcher is called PowerSchool - Home Access.jnpl

I have attached a copy of the PowerSchool - Home Access.jnpl file. Download the attachment and save it to the desktop of a computer you use when at home. If you are using a district issued MacBook and your security settings prevent you from launching the app, here is what you want to do:

  1. Click on the System Preferences icon.
  2. A new window will open. in the window, Click on Security & Privacy
  3. Click on the tab labeled general.

  4. Click on the padlock at the bottom and enter your username and password.
  5. Click on the option that says Anywhere.

  6. Close the window and install the application. Double-check to ensure that you are still logged into PowerSchool before installing.
